We agree that the design goes all the sauces … but admit that the link to the trees is still very rare.
What’s more, it comes from Morocco, in the person of Mohammed Bennani, a professor at the Enset (Ecole Normale Superior of Technical Education) in Rabat!

And since nothing can stop your curiosity and that of Admirable Design …

It is from observation of how sculpture of trees, that Mohammed Bennani, had the idea of making a method. It must be said that he is passionate about our business and that conducts research on the concepts and practices of design.
The examples presented here are models for a new type of residential or office address.

Admittedly, the result is surprising. In front of the universality of style in architecture, commissioned by the technologies used, with the lack of regional culture of new construction, this approach opens up unexplored. And the forest offers a boundless field of reflection.

While the result may not convince, but recognize that the idea deserves that we dig the groove a little more.

The design of the trees …
This method is made to develop the possibilities of design objects, but also apply these techniques to the architecture or implementation of sculptures. It is presented as a series of exercises.
Learn to “design tree” is an original idea that can get them to ask questions differently, think outside the box to find … those of the forest!

For designers worthy of the name, all are good sources of inspiration to explore …
It is not admirable in that they will say the opposite!

This is a remarkable tribute paid to light Luxion by Antoni Gaudi, the Spanish designer of light.
Brief visit with admiration.
Otherwise, it is worth the trip …

Let there be light!

Not easy to go after as an architect Antoni Gaudi great and unusual, especially when it comes to illuminate the interior of the incredible balsilique Sagrada Familia in Barcelona!

Recognize that the glove was found in a masterly way by Luxion, a Spanish group via its references and Led Troll & Co. It could only be custom lighting for ceilings, arches, interior walls and architectural elements.

Technically the latest innovations in lighting were used for color LED with high, metal halide and white …

The aim of these artists is to combine the light subtly and at the same time spectacular natural and artificial lights.

A great way to apply the thoughts of Gaudi (who died in misery unknown):

“The essential quality of the work of art is harmony, which in the case of art comes from the light, which gives relief and decorates”

I have been working on a new photography project entitled, “Places of Power”. The idea being to capture the essence of sites of human pilgrimage. The first photos have been posted on my page at flickr.com. This set was taken at Indian Mounds Park in St. Paul, Minnesota. The park held many surprises for me. First it was not located where I thought it was so I spent a good half hour trying to find it. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny November day so I really didn’t mind. The park itself was deserted except for a couple quietly playing with their child on the playground on the other side of the street.

The parking lot and sidewalks were strewn with debris and trash. Someone had defaced all of the signs with the words, “Jesus Saves”. A tall airway beacon tower from the 20s stands over the burial mounds pissing on the entire site, violating the air. The burial mounds themselves were strangely trash free, imposing and undisturbed by their surroundings. At first this seemed an inauspicious beginning to this project but the calm and solitude of the mounds suggested that I calm down, relax and find the message there.

Here are a few of the photos. More can be seen here. Enjoy.

Yeah, I am getting so much painting done today. Leave me alone! I found these chrome kitchen items on Craigslist and couldn’t resist. The nice person selling them has the greatest little Boston Terrier named Betsy. The items still need to be polished up and the front of the mixer has a dent in it that I’m pretty sure can be gotten out with little effort.

I got a cake plate & lid, 4 piece canister set, breadbox and Hamilton Beach stand mixer for… wait for it… wait for it… $40! I don’t need the mixer but it will come in handy for some house staging that I’m doing. It has a timer on it so that the mixer will automatically turn itself off. Nice feature. The rest will have a happy home in my kitchen once it gets finished. No stress in my world.

When looking at individual pieces of furniture it can be difficult to envision how it would work in your space. Furniture stores set up room vignettes to help customers picture what that sofa, chair or whatever will look like in their home. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible when shopping on Craigslist where we are lucky if we even get a decent photo. So today I am going to try something different than my regular post. Instead I have put together a living room from recent finds to show you how to put together a beautiful room that has personality and doesn’t cost a fortune. Then I will explain my process.

Top Row:

    Large red vinyl ottoman. $60
White leather sofa. $450
Wood magazine rack. $35

2nd Row:

    Mid-century 6 drawer dresser. $80
Danish woven rope lounge chair. $100
Lane end tables. $145

3rd Row:

    70s reflective wall art. $40
Noguchi table lamp. $55
Textured ceramic lamp. $25
McCoy pottery. $25

Total cost: $1,065 which is less than the price of a good quality new sofa. The price can be less if you’re willing to bargain.

The process: After finding the sofa I decided to go with a eclectic modern look with a complementary color scheme of red & green. Most of the furnishings are neutral which helps the red & green pieces avoid looking like Christmas. The sofa, end tables, storage unit, magazine rack, chair, Noguchi lamp and artwork all have angular square lines which tie them together. The round ottoman, ceramic lamp and pottery provide relief and contrast. I chose the dresser for the living room because it mimics a side board if you leave off the mirror and provides storage. These pieces would be a good start for a smaller sized living room.

This would also be a nice arrangement to use when staging a house or condo when selling. While the idea of dropping a grand on a place you are no longer living in may seem extreme, it has been shown that homes with furnishings in them sell faster than empty ones. It’s the same idea as a furniture store using vignettes to help potential buyers envision their furniture in the space.

Common sense note: Design Ninja’s makes no guarantee of any kind on these items. Shop local & avoid scams. Happy scavenging and good luck!
